We are Vancouver's only cold read scenes drop-in group. We are celebrating our 6th year in the studio at Cineworks and are now welcoming performers with a range of experience. Anyone can drop in to act out a scene and/or bring in a scene to watch or direct it. Monologues are welcome as well. Performers often hook up with independent filmmakers present. What we do is also excellent preparation for auditions.

When: Tuesday nights - drop in between 7 pm and 9:30 pm. Open to the public.

Where: Cineworks - 1131 Howe Street, Vancouver MAP

More Info: Call Cass/Irwin or Josh at 604-872-4638 and leave a brief message

Sliding Scale: $6 - $10

Expect scenes from classic plays, film, and television, as well as newly written scenes never performed before. Let us know if you would like to direct a scene you bring in. Most scenes are 1-3 pages enabling us to get people up on stage at least four times during the night. Socialize later at a local karaoke.

Our stockpile of 600 scenes and growing include:

The Graduate, The Teddy Bear Chronicles, Blazing Saddles, My Cousin Vinny, Macbeth, Saving Private Ryan, Monty Python, Proof. More dramatic, comedic scenes from about a dozen local writers, performers & directors

We are proud members of Cineworks, a non-profit dedicated to independent filmmaking

More information coming soon on planned events for 2010
